HD movie streaming - Knives Out

 The star cast of this classic crime comedy alone suggests an entertaining film experience. If there is a cryptic auteur filmmaker like Rian Johnson behind the matter, you can be sure that this death is a dodgy one. In the footsteps of Hitchcock and Agatha Christie, “Knives Out” is surprisingly fresh. Now released by Leonine on Blu-ray and DVD for home entertainment.

The great crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is dead. The morning after the family had gathered at the patriarch's house to celebrate his 85th birthday, Harlan was found dead. Apparently he killed himself, slit his throat with a knife.

Lieutenant Elliot (LaKeith Stanfield) investigates the death and interrogates all family members present in the house as well as the bestselling author's carer. In the background is the famous private detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) who was called in by an unknown client and now thinks he has to solve a murder. Even if the policeman explains to him that everything points towards suicide.

Classic "Who was it?" ...

Well, on closer inspection, almost everyone in the deceased's family seems to have a motive for turning the old man around. Daughter Linda Drysdale (Jamie Lee Curtis) runs a successful business, but her husband Richard (Don Johnson) has a secret that Harlan knew about. Linda's son Ransom (Chris Evans) left the party yesterday in an argument. Harlan's son Walt Thrombey (Michael Shannon) runs the family-owned book publisher, but was at odds with his father over the sale of film rights.

Finally, Joni (Toni Colette), the widow of Harlan's late second son, is financially dependent on her father-in-law; not only because of the tuition fees for his granddaughter Meg (Katherine Langford). Only the nurse Marta Cabrera (Ana de Armas) seems to have been on friendly terms with the late Harlan Thrombey.

"Knives out" is a classic detective piece in the British manner of "Who Dunnit?", In which it is always essential that all suspects are held in one place and that the investigator or investigators use questioning and cleverness to navigate through the undergrowth Beat intrigues, lies and false alibis. Often enough in the long history of such crime pieces, which form their own sub-genre of crime novels, there is some - often cynical - humor, because much tension rarely arises. So it has to remain tricky and the audience has to be actively involved in the resolution and have to be able to guess.
